Description & Services

Information Annapolis Royal provides opportunity for endless recreational pursuits, which helps to enhance a quality of life you must experience to believe.

Annapolis Royal Recreation coordinates several community programs, some of which include; swim lessons and aquatic programs, tennis, volleyball, basketball, badminton, cycle racing, Canada Day events, fitness classes, walking clubs, volunteer recognition activities, and Terry Fox Runs!

Helping to facilitate these programs are a number of facilities within the Town, including; an outdoor pool, two newly refurbished tennis courts, soccer pitches, field hockey pitches, exciting playground areas, and two school gymnasium facilities. As well, located within Annapolis Royal is Historic Fort Anne which provides attractive green space, walking trails, and is often a venue for special events. Nearby there are many additional facilities, including an 18 hole golf course.

The natural beauty of our area truly makes a lasting impression and lends itself to several outdoor recreation pursuits. Fish from ship or shore for the prized striped bass, often caught in excess of 40lbs. Lighter tackle can be used for the increasingly popular mackerel run or relax while ice fishing for smelt. The Annapolis River also provides for great boating opportunities: seen often are sail boats, windsurfers, motor craft, canoes and kayaks. Outdoor opportunities are ever increased as you explore the region surrounding Annapolis Royal. Witness the Bay of Fundy tides, wilderness trails and camping, or fish the many local lakes for speckled trout, including First Lake in Lequille which is stocked annually for a fishing derby!
