Description & Services

Information The route consists of two lakes and adjoining sections of river and meadow, offering a wide variety of paddling opportunities. Access to the route can be found at four Entry, Exit Points, allowing for flexibility in trip planning.

The lakes form part of the Nova Scotia Power Nictaux Development, and water levels are subject to fluctuation with the demands of power generation.

McGill Lake can be enjoyed on its own, or the paddler may wish to also include Big Molly Upsim Lake, which is listed in this guide as part of Route 14, Lake Alma.

Both McGill Lake and Big Molly Upsim Lake are susceptible to unfavourable wind conditions, so caution and attention to weather conditions is advised.
