Description & Services

Information The purpose of the West Hants Trails Association is to develop and promote trails. West Hants has a beautiful natural environment with an abundance of forest, hills, lakes, rivers and coastline and therefore great potential for trails and a trail system. Already volunteer groups are working on a variety of community trails. The West Hants Trails Association was established to bring together individuals and groups interested in trail development and to support their efforts in building trails for the benefit of all.

Specifically, our objectives are:
-To develop and promote trails
-To support organizations that are associated with trail development and use
-To encourage private public partnerships for trail development
-To promote healthy active lifestyles and environmental awareness

Our Association currently manages two trails:
Avondale Trail System
Cheverie Salt Marsh Trail

The West Hants Trails Association is a member of the Nova Scotia Trails Federation and shares their Vision that, "All Nova Scotians have access to and value diverse and well-managed recreational trails for the pursuit of: Health; Education and Environment; Arts and Culture; Recreation; Tourism and Transportation
