Volunteer with us!
Community Health Board (CHB) members are volunteers living in our area with an interest in the health of their community.
CHB members vary in backgrounds, ages, skills and interests.
CHB members understand that health is affected by things like education, employment, social environments.
CHB members understand the need to work with many community partners to keep people healthy.
CHB members understand that we need to keep people healthy rather than simply treat illness.
CHB members are supported by Nova Scotia Health Authority
Volunteers receive orientation to the roles and responsibilities.
Experience in healthcare is not necessary!

The Community Health Boards (CHB) of Nova Scotia, through the Wellness Funds, support non-profit groups in developing healthy communities.
Wellness Funds support projects addressing local community health plan priorities and the social determinants of health, such as income, education, social supports, early childhood development, etc.
Funds are provided by NS Department of Health.
