Information  
Supporting the arts in Hants County 
 
The goals of the Avon River Arts Society are… 
 
To increase the understanding and appreciation of arts and culture. 
To promote excellence among artists and to provide encouragement to groups and individuals in the community who are involved in the arts. 
To create educational and networking opportunities in support of arts and culture. 
 
Gallery Showings 
Working in partnership with The Bread Gallery in Brooklyn and the Avon River Heritage Society, we arrange for many opportunities for members to show their art during the year. 
 
The Arts Digest 
The HCAC Arts Digest is a listing of artists, studios, galleries and cultural associations. 
Distributed free to thousands of households through Hants County and also available at tourist bureaus and other outlets throughout the province . 
 
Educational Events 
On an irregular basis, the council organizes: 
 
Tours of artist's workshops 
 
Potluck gatherings to meet, greet and discuss art with your fellow members
